Insurance is about numbers, and right now the insurance industry stands at the brink of a talent crisis. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, nearly 400,000 employees are expected to retire from the insurance industry workforce within the next few years.

One way to address these issues is through a quality Internship/Apprenticeship program that builds the pool of insurance and financial services professionals through a career lattice including Licensed Customer Service Representative, Policy Processor or Teller; Insurance Sales Agent/Broker or Personal Financial Advisor; Entrepreneur.

Do you qualify?

Anyone involved in the counseling, solicitation, selling, or negotiation of insurance or financial services must have a State issued license. The requirements for licensure vary slightly from state to state but generally are as follows:

· Be at least 18 years of age;

· Maintain a business or legal address in the state;

· Pass the appropriate examination(s) required;

· Initial resident individual producer applicants are required to be fingerprinted;

Newly licensed professionals can enhance their skills and broaden their knowledge of insurance and other financial services by taking courses at colleges and universities and by attending institutes, conferences, and seminars.
